A Day in the Life.....

and not that my life was 'empty' before but I really feel like it's so full now, I rarely have time to post. I am going to try to make more time though. Assuming it will always be here...it will be a nice 'place' to come and read about our life! (I would love to print a copy and keep it.)

Right now my kids are fighting in the background but ya know what, it's still a good day ;) I'm working on letting THEM work it out...more times than not.

I think part of my abandonment of this blog has been the addition of Facebook/MySpace....which is kinda sad. Maybe a little less time there, and a little more time here. Because while that is a GREAT way to keep in touch with people and I love it...someday, I will look back the fun times had and the relfections here...and be so glad I have it!!!!!

So, off to enjoy my Sunday. Some time with the fam and then off to work I go!!!!

just some thoughts. I love summertime...well, I do NOT love the heat. But, I do love these days of fun with my kiddos. I know one of these days I will work in the summertime, so I try to soak up EVERY minute of fun with my kids right NOW! Now that school has started though, I miss Abbie. I am happy for her to love school (well, she's like me and loves the social part of it!ha!) and I am happy to not break up fights when they occur but in all honesty, the playing and fun times were WAY more than the fights. They acutally get along pretty good overall so I should NOT complain *but yet, you know I will*.

The one thing I do love about school though is my time with Ty. I had some time with Abbie at home when it was just she and I...and now I am loving it with him. Even just to stand back and listen when he doesn't know I am. Playing trains, making his animals 'talk'...all the wonderful make-believe child play. Today he was telling his little Pablo figure (Backyardagains) to "wake UP!!!!!" like he was really, truly asleep! ha! Most days that little guy of mine is just so sweet. I don't talk about THAT nearly as much as I talk about how ornery he is...and I should do that more. Note to self!!!!! He has SO much love. He is a lot like me though and happy when he's happy and WATCH OUT when he's mad! ha!

So...there ya go! Journal update for today! Today was bring a stuffed animal day for Abbie at school. Oh my...was that a decision for her! When you have 100s of them, it's hard to pick!!!!

I can hardly believe it!!!!!!!!

So, I think maybe trying to have 2 journals is not such a great idea for me. When I am logged into one, I can't post on the other...then I feel guilty for posting on one and NOT the other so..here I go, trying to just keep up with one for now!!!!! Summertime has been good to us! We have had so many good times with friends and family and we are blessed beyond belief! I even have had my fair share of tomatoes off my now VERY sad little tomato plant! yay!!!! Next year, I vow...I REALLY do want a garden...a real, official garden. (you gardeners reading this...please nag me, k?)

Quick picture from vacation last month! Outside of Rainforest Cafe. I just have to say i always think the food will be worth the ambience but it's not...EVER. And it is SO expensive...but, it is worth it for a treat once a year (I guess). Although, I have to say the $12 dessert was a LITTLE excessive. We all four couldn't even eat it all...and THAT is saying a lot!

wow, that is hard to believe!!!! It has been an awesome summer so far with more fun to come! I can honestly say a huge part of why I have not been here...not been updating EITHER of my blogs...is that we've just been so busy out and about having a blast! This is a good thing...a great thing. But, something weird has happened. For example, it is 12:24am and why am I not asleep? I lay there, wiped out from a FUN day, yet I can't fall asleep! Overtired...maybe. I have a dr's appt on Thursday so I will chit-chat with good old dr. d about it then.

Yesterday was daddy's turn to be spoiled! We had fun!!! But next year, I think I will take the day off from work. It was a bummer having to leave and I would've rather just been with them all day. Here is a picture of daddy getting some love from the kiddos!



Then Papa came over and we cooked out and had a lovely evening!!!!


I made a peach crisp/cobbler type thingy...it was DELISH! new recipe and I think it was a hit. Would've been better with fresh peaches...so if anyone sees a deal on peaches, let me know!!!! Although, I probably won't make it unless we have a cookout or something...lordy knows I don't need THAT thing sitting around this house!

but here I am, dear, online journal! I did NOT forget about you...life has just been busy. Good busy, mostly!!!! Summer is here and we are trying to keep up. Luckily, today was a nice, relaxing day around the house! Reading, baking cookies...all that nice quiet stuff.

Now tonight...off to work I go! I'm sure Father's Day will warrant some picture posting!

But for good reason. I made a promise....followed through. We had POOP in the potty today!!!!!! I had told Ty when he started doing both...we would celebrate at CEC. He remembered...and wanted to go RIGHT that minute. I am glad I had so much other FUN stuff going on today...made CEC tolerable.

And from this past Saturday from the Koch co. picnic at the Zoo...here is Ty's favorite jumpy thing. It was full of air...and they just ran around inside and chased balloons...not really 'jumping'...it was flat on the ground (hard to explain) adn then the 'trunk'...well, that was a slide to exit. I just HAD to take a picture. Melissa...please make SURE you show this to Corey...I can ONLY imagine the comments it will get!!!!!

tomorrow will not be a fun day....but, Mommy and Daddy will do all we can to make it as easy on you as possible. Sweet dreams and see you bright and early!!!! Love, Mommy

I have a sad heart because there is a little girl NOT going to a birthday party in part because of poor judgement on my part. I hesitated to say anything...thought about waiting until Saturday night or even Sunday to bring it up....should've. I guess in life we can't have regrets...with live with our choices and mistakes. Obviously it's not EARTHshattering...but I love that little girl, and gosh, just feel so sad. I respect her parents TREMENDOUSLY and me also being of the pretty strict parent club, feel that that's all I can do. Abbie's heart is sad, too. She will miss her today...SO much.

to take this little guy 'out' somewhere w/out a pull up on. I don't know what my 'issue' is. I guess I just don't want to set him up for failure? Dunno...I want him to keep his pull up DRY a few times while we are out...ask me to POTTY a few times while we are out...but, that's not happening. On the GOOD NEWS of the Rains Household Potty News...he stayed dry all night, and hasn't had an accident all day. He had a couple yesterday but I think it was about needing to poop and holding both in too long. Eventually he took care of that (and not in the best way but...we'll get there)...and then was back on track!

We had potty...ALL day today! So..we'll see. I'm not naieve...I know we still have a long road ahead but I just had to come and say WHOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO Ty!!!! You did SO awesome today, buddy!!!

OH and Abbie got her first goal of the season last week. It's funny, when she was little and they didn't play 'positions' she scored MUCH more often. Now she gets excited about blocks and assists, too but she was PUMPED about that goal!!! WHOOOOOHOOOOO for her, too!

ok, so Ty might have overheard that joke going around our house...but, it wasn't until he heard the sweet little chipmunk on the commercial for the Alvin and the Chipmunks DVD that he started this

"I just wanted to get back in bed and pull the covers over my head"....well, I wondered today if that would help. Now, I feel REALLY crappy having this entry in my journal proceeding my one about BEING HAPPY but today, not a BAD day by any means as far as nothing horrid going on...just crap. crap crap crap! And something about saying things in '3s' seems to make it have more impact. ha!

So today, Ty went down for his nap and I thought I would try that thing out...the covers thing. All it did was make me hot. So, I popped my head and and took a 30min nap. That made me feel better...

This week is just CRAZY busy and NOT a good week for a car to stop running (is it ever?). Then I start to worry...I know he had a busy day ahead...is it going to effect his job that he just didn't go in today ( *told* him I would take him on the way or after I took Abbie to school but he didn't want to mess with that...wanted to work on his truck...which proved pointless. grr).

anywho...it's just life. Toilets over-flow, kids the flu, life just happens. Tomorrow is another day...and so far, I haven't run any red lights today so it's better than that day, right!??!?!
